was called "no identity" but its been removed

This is one of my favorite pieces! I was inspired by Ben Dagger.
Its 36" x 36" on canvas
Ink, and Acrylic Paint.
Steps:
sketched on the subject matter (faces)
I stood the canvas up and globbed on watered down arylic paint then i let it drip
I did this several times.
started adding the shadows to the face: around nose under cheek bones, chin, and neck
layers of the shadow
after i was pleased with the placement of the shadows, i started outlined with black ink using twigs....yes twigs :)
I then used the black ink for shadows around the eyes: between nose and eyes and under eye as well as eye lids.
and done!

  1. so cool! I love that you exposed your technique too! love this. I'm a drawer, I'm very jealous of those who paint.

  2. I love this piece. It's really kinda haunting in a beautiful way. Your art has a subtle but powerful quality to it. You've got my attention. :)
